Terms of service
These terms govern your use of the Fakts invoicing platform (the “Service”). The Service is provided by KANEPE, SIA, registration number 40103512182, VAT number LV40103512182, registered address Kalna iela 13, Mārupe, Mārupes novads, LV-2167, Latvia. You accept these terms by checking the agreement box on the account creation page.
1. The Service
Fakts is a tool for creating invoices and related documents, including Peppol/UBL e-invoice XML files. The Service helps you prepare documents but is not an accounting, tax, or legal advisor. Creating an e-invoice file does not itself mean it has been sent to or received by a government or other system.
2. Account and eligibility
The Service is intended for business use. You are responsible for the security of your account and for all activity carried out under it.
3. Your responsibilities
- Review and approve document content, calculations, VAT treatment, and recipients before issuing or sending. Automatically extracted purchase documents are drafts and may contain errors.
- Process other people's data and documents in the Service only when you are entitled to do so, and grant access only to authorised people.
- Comply with applicable law, including VAT and accounting requirements.
- File your own tax returns and make payments. The Service does not do this for you.
- Keep the copies of invoices and documents you need, and verify sending or receipt status when a deadline or delivery has legal significance.
4. Plans and billing
- The free plan includes every feature except the Gmail connector. Only volume is limited: sending email and reading documents, as shown on the pricing page.
- The paid plan costs EUR 5 a month or EUR 50 a year, excluding PVN (Latvian VAT), which is added to the invoice as the law requires. It adds the Gmail connector and more email and document-reading volume. It adds no other features.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. The subscription renews automatically each month or year until you cancel it.
- You can cancel at any time in the Stripe customer portal, reached from Settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period; until then the paid plan keeps working, and afterwards the account returns to the free plan with all its data kept.
- We will announce any price change in advance, and it applies from the next billing period.
5. Availability
The Service is provided “as is”. We aim for continuous operation but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. An email accepted by a mail provider is not guaranteed to reach its recipient. This is an early release and features may change; we will announce material changes.
6. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages or lost profits arising from your use of the Service. You remain responsible for meeting your own accounting and tax obligations. This section does not limit liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
7. Data
Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend access if these terms are breached.
9. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; material changes will be communicated. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Latvia. Questions: info@fakts.lv.
