E-address (official electronic address)

The e-address (official electronic address) is a secure, state-run channel for electronic communication and document exchange between public institutions and private persons. Use of it is mandatory for every entity entered in the registers of the Enterprise Register.
A company's e-address is formed from the registration number assigned by the Enterprise Register. The account is reached through the state services portal Latvija.lv with a qualified electronic identification tool, or through an application interface that accounting and e-invoicing software can use.
The e-address is also an e-invoicing channel. Cabinet Regulation No. 749 allows e-invoices to be sent and received through it, and when an e-invoice travels through the e-address the system submits it to VID automatically. VID has received e-invoices this way since 1 January 2026, so the business does not submit them separately.
Example
SIA "Ozols" sends SIA "Liepa" a EUR 968 e-invoice as an e-address message with the XML attached. SIA "Liepa" finds it in its e-address account, and it is submitted to VID automatically, with no separate step.
